Why ChargeHop
Built different, for a reason
Most EV apps are built for the US or Europe. ChargeHop was built from day one for SG and MY drivers.
01
Cross-border ready
Plan SG to MY road trips with charging stops mapped along the route — highway and destination chargers included. The only app that handles both sides of the Causeway.
02
Accurate local rates
Rates are verified against official provider apps — not scraped or guessed. Spot a wrong rate? Flag it in-app and it gets fixed. Community-driven accuracy.
03
Your data, privately
Your sessions are yours alone — no other user can see your data. No ads, no tracking, no selling your driving habits. Just a clean tool that works.

General
Yes — ChargeHop is completely free for all users, all features included. No subscriptions, no hidden limits. If the app saves you time and money, you can support development via Buy Me a Coffee, but it's never required.
No downloads needed. ChargeHop runs entirely in your browser at www.chargehopsg.com. Add it to your home screen for an app-like experience — see the Install Guide above.
Yes. Your charging sessions are only visible to you — no other user can see your data. ChargeHop has no ads and does not sell or share your usage data with third parties.
Yes! ChargeHop covers all major MY charging providers — TNB Electron, JomCharge, JomCharge Night Saver, Gentari (Destination, Highway, BESS tiers), Shell Recharge MY, ChargEV MY, Charge+ MY, and DC Handal. The Route Planner also handles full cross-border SG↔MY trip planning.
Dashboard
The Dashboard gives you a live summary of your charging activity — total sessions, energy used (kWh), and total spend for the current month, along with month-over-month trends. It also shows your provider spending breakdown, upcoming charging prediction, and monthly budget progress if you've set a goal.
ChargeHop analyses your session history to estimate when you'll likely need to charge next — based on your average charging frequency and patterns. The more sessions you log, the more accurate the prediction gets.
Go to Settings and enter a Monthly Cost Goal (in SGD or MYR). The Dashboard will track your spend against the target with a progress bar and alert you if you're on track to exceed it.
My Data
Go to My Data and tap "Add Session". Fill in the date, location, charging provider, energy charged (kWh), cost (SGD or MYR), and duration. You can also scan a charging receipt photo, or drag and drop a CSV or PDF to import sessions in bulk.
Yes. From My Data, find the session and tap the edit ✏️ or delete 🗑 icon on that row. Deleted sessions cannot be recovered, so double-check before confirming.
When adding a session, tap the camera/scan button (or drag and drop a receipt image). ChargeHop's OCR reads the receipt and pre-fills the session fields automatically. Just review the extracted details and hit Save.
Export: From My Data, tap the export button to download your full history as CSV or PDF. Import: Download the CSV template from My Data, fill it in with your sessions, and drag-and-drop it back in to import in bulk.
When logging a session, you can optionally enter your battery's Start % (state of charge when you plugged in) and End % (when you unplugged). A blue-to-green progress bar previews the charge range in real time. Once you have 3 or more sessions with SoC data logged, a Battery SoC trend chart automatically appears in My Data — showing your average start and end charge levels by month, which helps you spot charging habits and battery health patterns over time.
Each session has an optional Current Mileage (km) field — enter your odometer reading when you plug in. ChargeHop automatically calculates the distance driven since your last charge and displays it (labelled AUTO) in the expanded session row. This turns your charging history into a light mileage log, so you can see how far each charge took you without a separate app. Once you have mileage data across sessions, the Dashboard also shows your real-world efficiency (kWh per 100 km) based on your actual driving.
Calculator
Select your EV model (113+ models supported), choose a charging provider, pick AC or DC, and set your start and target battery %. The calculator shows estimated charge time and exact cost based on real, verified provider rates.
You can enter your vehicle specs manually — battery size (kWh), max AC charge rate (kW), and max DC charge rate (kW). These manual fields appear in the Vehicle Setup section when no model is selected. You can also save your specs in Settings so they load automatically each time.
Yes. In the Calculator, tap Provider, scroll down, and select "Add Custom Provider". Enter the provider name and your AC/DC rates — it'll be saved to your profile. You can edit ✏️ or delete 🗑 saved custom providers anytime from the same Provider section.
In the Calculator, look for the "Report incorrect rate" link next to the rate display. Tap it, enter the correct rate, and submit. Reports are reviewed and fixed as quickly as possible.
Settings
Go to Settings and enter your EV's battery capacity (kWh), max AC charge rate (kW), and max DC charge rate (kW). These values are used by the Calculator to automatically cap results to your vehicle's real-world limits — so you get accurate estimates without entering specs every time.
The Current Odometer (km) field in Settings is your starting mileage anchor. Set it once to your car's current odometer reading — ChargeHop uses it as a Day 0 baseline to calculate distance driven from your very first logged session. Without it, distance calculations only begin once you have two sessions with mileage entered. It also powers the Dashboard Smart Insights cards, which show your overall real-world efficiency (kWh/100 km) and your latest odometer reading at a glance. You can update this field anytime if needed.
Found in Settings, the Provider Loyalty Tracker shows a ranked breakdown of your most-used charging networks by number of sessions, total kWh charged, and total spend. A quick way to see where you charge most and what each network has cost you.
Tap Settings and scroll to the bottom — you'll find the Sign Out button there.
Route Planner
Enter your start and destination (SG, MY, or cross-border). Set your current battery % and select your EV. The AI route planner calculates the charging stops you'll need — including which providers to stop at, estimated charge time, and cost at each stop.
Yes — cross-border SG↔MY routing is one of ChargeHop's core features. The planner maps highway charging stops (Gentari, Shell Recharge MY, and others) along the route and accounts for the range used on both sides of the Causeway.
Changelog
What's been built
ChargeHop ships updates regularly. Here's the full history of what's changed.
✨ Features
Malaysia provider data overhaul — corrected provider names (TNB Electron, JomCharge, ChargEV) and rates to match official app data across all power tiers
Gentari DC split into three location tiers: Destination (RM1.60), Highway (RM1.70), BESS (RM1.80)
Shell Recharge MY updated to high-power tiers: 180kW highway (RM2.20), 360kW premium (RM2.80)
New providers: JomCharge Night Saver off-peak DC (12am–7am, RM1.10), Charge+ MY (RM1.25–1.50), DC Handal (RM1.00–1.30)
EV model list expanded from 34 to 113 entries across 30+ brands — full trims for BYD, XPENG, Zeekr, Aion, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, and more
My Data: CSV Template download — pre-formatted import file with correct headers and an example row
My Data: Drag & drop import — drop a CSV to import sessions, or drop a PDF/image to scan a receipt
My Data: Start & End Battery % per session — optional SoC fields on the session form with a live blue→green progress bar preview; expanded session row shows the SoC bar per session
My Data: Per-session mileage tracking — log your odometer reading when you plug in; ChargeHop auto-calculates distance driven since your last charge (shown in the expanded session row)
My Data: Battery SoC trend chart — avg Start % and End % per month, appears automatically once 3+ sessions have battery data logged
Dashboard: Smart Insights — Efficiency (kWh/100 km) and Current Odometer cards appear above the insights list once mileage data is available; updates with every session logged
Settings: Current Odometer (km) field added to My Vehicle — set your baseline mileage as a starting reference point for distance tracking
Settings: Support ChargeHop — Buy Me a Coffee card to tip the developer and keep the app running
Calculator: Report incorrect rate — flag a wrong provider rate instantly from within the app
🐛 Bug Fixes
My Data: Session expanded row was appearing at the bottom of the page instead of directly below the tapped row — fixed, now opens inline as an accordion
Calculator: Custom providers can now be edited ✏️ or deleted 🗑 — each saved provider shows inline controls; edit expands a form, delete asks for confirmation
Calculator: Custom provider power tier mismatch fixed — the calculator now uses the provider's own rated power (e.g. 7.4 kW AC) instead of the active tier button, giving accurate time and cost estimates
